Occasional plants noted in mostly dried off grass and concrete rubble at back of recently built house. First record for the islands and I suspect an accidental introduction from Aotearoa / New Zealand.

Plants with distinct carrot smell when foliage crushed, rootstock fibrous, much-branched not napiform.

Description

Found in the garage. Presume caught by the cat and escaped due to a puncture mark on its right stomach and left back leg. I see one or two per year, usually in October, so this feels unseasonal (although it's not). Perhaps the overly dry summer is forcing them from cover in search of moisture.
