Portland BES restoration planting Texas wetlands site
Foraging at feeders near some chickadees and house finches (the nuthatches seem to be dominant and the others sneak in while they're away). Seed mix is mostly sunflower seeds and peanuts. In a residential neighborhood.
Somewhat clawed petal? Leaves seem more like C. californica but seems likely it could be C. nuttallii.
Branching pattern difficult to say, as there appeared to only be one ternately compound leaf. Each part of this leaf is oblong shaped with an entire margin. This flower has a superior ovary, 4 apopetalous petals, and 4 aposepalous sepals. There is one pistil, and 4 main stamens. Inflorescence appears to be a small simple embel.
