Found growing in the newly deposited granite sands below the massive dredged rock tailings at Mississippi Bar.
Found nectaring on Yellow Starthistle at Geogetown,Ca. Elevation 2600 ft.
Just beginning to emerge this perennial milkweed is one of about 30 well established plants in this area of Mississippi Bar. Located in a mixed conifer and oak woodland very near Lake Natoma. The area generally is in full sun most of the day.

Found in grass with pine needles under pine tree..."It's distinguishing feature glandular dots on the stipe". Cap brownish. Pore Surface,Yellowish

Found growing at the edge on the Snowberry horse tail in leaf litter.
Lizard seen crawling over rotting log in the drainage by the horse/pediatrician bridge along the connector trail in Mississippi Bar.
Found growing out of the rotting wood of a pine log that had been cut in this area of Mississippi Bar along a hiking trail. It's cap is a dark purplish red and is moist to the touch.

Skipper nectaring on Creeping Lantana (Lantana montevidensis) in a residential/suburban environment.
Closest I’d that was suggested. About the size of a half dollar. This is the first time I’ve seen in my garden

Another possibility is this could be Wand Buckwheat (Eriogonum roseum)..Does have a documented history as being found growing at Willow Creek at Lake Natoma back in 1990.

Below the Lake Natoma bluffs on the edge of the American River Bike Trail,a thick growth of Spanish Clover (Acmispon americanus) is growing that now is supporting Acmon Blues,it's host plant.
This Acmon Blue is seen in an area of Mississippi Bar where Spanish Clover (Acmispon americanus) is everywhere and is in full bloom as a food source while being the host plant for Acmon Blues.
Acmon Blue female seen nectaring on it's host plant Spanish Clover (Acmispon americanus) growing throughout this area along the "Parallel"trail at Mississippi Bar.
Acmon Blue Male found puddling on the shoreline of Lake Natoma at "Cattail" Beach,Mississippi Bar..Not to be confused with Lupine Blue that's not found at this low elevation.
Found at the waters edge in cobble stones at Lake Natoma on the American River Bike trail just below the bluffs running along the bike trail.Only in this area was it seen.

A massive amount of California Buckwheat is seen growing in this area of Mississippi Bar,located just behind the horse stables.A favorite nectaring plant for Acmon Blue,Eastern Tailed- Blue, Gray Hairstreaks and the Great Purple Hairstreak in the area.
