Description

Series of images are of perennial
Heart-leaf Milkweed sprouts that were planted from seeds back in Dec. 2019. They have successfully re-sprouted near the "old grove" at Mississippi Bar.

On Leafy California Buckwheat stand furthest west just behind the Shadow Glen horse stables. Acmon Blue are rarely seen on Buckwheat along this area of Mississippi Bar so far this month.

Description

Just beginning to emerge this perennial milkweed is one of about 30 well established plants in this area of Mississippi Bar. Located in a mixed conifer and oak woodland very near Lake Natoma. The area generally is in full sun most of the day.

Description

Found growing out of the rotting wood of a pine log that had been cut in this area of Mississippi Bar along a hiking trail. It's cap is a dark purplish red and is moist to the touch.
koh turned the cap almost black
seen in images....Also in this area oaks are mixed in with pines growing in the riparian forest .

Another possibility is this could be Wand Buckwheat (Eriogonum roseum)..Does have a documented history as being found growing at Willow Creek at Lake Natoma back in 1990.
