Caught in minnow trap at depth of 200 ft. Deepwater Sculpin (Myoxocephalus thompsoni) should have gap between dorsal fins, and Mottled Sculpin should have mottled pattern on pelvic fins which this does not have. C. cognatus has been previously reported at this depth in Lake Superior (Schmidt 2013).
Collected with authorization as part of an annual survey of the warmwater fish assemblage of Lake Ontario.
Caught in Bear Creek near North Bay. Also a very northern occurence.
