Description

Die Gabel-Azurjungfer erreicht eine Flügelspannweite von bis zu drei bis vier cm. Während die Männchen eine relativ geringere Körpergröße als andere Azurjungfern und eine schwarz-blaue Zeichnung auf den Thorax- und den hinterleibssegmenten besitzen, sind die Weibchen größer in Statur. Markant sind die hellen Flügelmale auf der Abdomenoberseite des Weibchens sowie die hakenartig nach innen gebogenen oberen Hinterleibsanhänge des Männchens.
