One of at least three wild crocodiles released into the Port Moresby Golf Course. These came from the Sepik River in the north. While C. halli has been proposed, it HAS NOT been confirmed or accepted by the IUCN just yet. Even so, these animals came from the north, so they would be novaeguineae regardless.
The only Crocodylus porosus seen on the golf course (referred to as the "big crocodile", though its only between 2 and 2.5m). The rest of the crocodiles on the golf course are C. novaeguineae released from the Sepik River in the north.
Small group seen on aboriginal land. Permit required and obtained from Aboriginal Land Council as well as indigenous guides to the locality.
I was extremely fortunate to have an opportunity to stay at New Haven Station for three days and join the station trackers on a hike into the dunes to find and see these beautiful and highly nomadic parrots.
Open branched tree up to 18 m tall with syconia on the stems.
