Description

Eleven flowering plants, plus several juveniles, in a very small disturbed wetland area. Not previously observed at this site, probably because it wasn't visited during the flowering season.

Description

This is going to be big news, seems to be the easiest to fruit Pleurotus australis. P. australis is a pain to grow and sometimes it just will refuse to fruit. Other cultures take 70 days to colonize and fruit. this takes just 3 weeks and acts more like a P. parsonsiae block.

This was grown on 50% soy 50% wood

I slapped the block like a shiitake block just in case that helped. Cut the bag and left it in the shade in my back yard at 60-70% humidity.

I forgot about it and the sun hit the bag every morning.

The natural mushrooms are also giants and come from puriti moth Kanuka holes. The trees then die or were already on their way out. They also have a strange look unlike the purple varieties in the central North Island.

Hopefully, the species is complex.

It came from far north and it is really hot 45 degrees and fruited like it was winter in summer down lower in the central north island outside with no fruiting room. I will now make more blocks and move it all into the fruiting room.

Pretty sure these are going to be massive like really big! look at the size of those stalks. This is a wild giant strain from the biggest ones I have ever seen.
