Royal National Park, Lady Carrington Drive, Audley. Carpenter bee seen repeatedly visiting Pultenaea flowers.
Very excited to finally get relatively clear photos of one of these entirely pale yellow euryglossines after seeing them a few times. Seems to match Brachyhesma but I know euryglossines are often difficult to ID so not 100% certain.
2nd photo shows stub-like Cu1 vein, 3rd photo shows the upturned apex typical of the genus, photo 4 shows facial markings, and the last photo is the location I found many females and males nesting in the dry grass stems.
These bees came to my light sheet. They have the large eyes of drones and are about honey bee sized but have very hairy legs. This is the first ime I have had any sort of bees coming to the light sheet.
Netted, cooled for a few minutes, photographed and released as these were separate locations from my initial find.

Can I get confirmation on an id please
Bit excited. Saw three of them in aerial combat around this gum in blossom
