Well over 7", tail slightly shorter. This thing was huge! As I approached it with the car, I thought it was a muskrat! but the tail was way too thin and short. (street line is not regular narrow lane divider but wider side lane separator and the picture shows the rat 45 degrees to the line)
Colour was brownish, not dark
Followed it in parking lot along Costco sidewalk, thinking WTF, then it went onto the street, I sped ahead and just managed to grab the camera for the low light as it disappeared under the truck, into the sewer openings I expect.
Odd how all the other rat pictures in Saskatchewan Manitoba were dead rats. This giant was alive and moving fast!
Killed by animal... Doesn't look wild?
Someone found in parking lot of nature centre and brought inside. Took some pictures and released.
Most spots are very small or dull
Me: "hey it's a centipede" *pulls out phone
Boss: *looks at me strangely
Looks like this guy: https://inaturalist.ca/observations/59904662
I was walking through some tall grass and noticed it on my camera after, so not sure what plant it came off of
