a stem 2-3m L which fell during release of bank frm Tradescantia - was propped agains other vegetation to prevent further fallig and breaking. Still growing
Clay bank mostly bare after release of streambank from Tradescantia
Weed. Not a native to nz. Will climb up and spread over the canopy, blocking light for regeneration.
Growing on steep clay bank which was until recently shaded and sheltered - and larger vegetation suppressed - by a fallen brach or tree, much of the debris now sufficiently decayed to fall to the ground, revealing ferns and numerous seedling and juvenile trees and ferns. How many of the trees will survive on the steep bank, with Reserve users cutting vegetation that leans over the path, remains to be seen

How many of the trees, and how much of this native vine, will survive on the steep bank, with Reserve users cutting vegetation that leans over the path, remains to be seen. We have been moving stems where possible to hook them over other vegetation and dead wood, so that they are supported to grow out of the way of the path.
