1600x pondwater sample - pretty sure this is a colonial diatom. They slink along, expanding and contracting, knocking other things out of the way as they go.

The water sample was obtained around 1:00pm and this picture was taken with the magnification of 720(40*10*1.8).

They were about 5~7cm in length and flying on the creek, some mating.
Small, whitish, tear dropped shaped bugs rapidly swarming around a pile of leaves. There were quite a few of them, they were about .5 cm in length. They somewhat resembled leaves. Observed in someone's front yard in my neighborhood.
Observed by apartment pool. I'd say it was roughly around 1.75" to 2" in length. Green coloration.
