Seven NZ dotterel. Three feeding on the reef and strand line (could have been male,female and juvenile). Four NZ dotterel flew overhead (first three and then one).

Additional comments? - They need water frequently in hot weather. They like to bathe as well as drink.

Field Notes - A few of these feeding at ground level but they always kept a long way in front of us.

Field Notes - it is very obscured in the tree. there were lots of lorikeets around eating nectar

This is a juvenile Little Shag.
Like most of the Shags when they're young they're real nice looking birds.
