Bioblitz light trapping for City Nature Challenge
On fennel
Back on the lime bush found these three hiding under a low leaf, the first observation of more than one on this tree since April 9th when the main cluster dispersed. These look like 3rd instar with coloured head compared to black heads (2nd instar?) when last seen as a group. Not much different from last observation of an individual on this tree on the 22nd
Back on the Phalerian tree this looks like the smaller/ younger of the two individuals seen last time maybe a more mature 4th instar? This is the first time I have seen the beak/rostrum of this critter if that's what it is!
Lurking in a verge garden, waiting for unwary pollinators.
Gravid female perhaps?
