Infection suspected due to indigo discolouration
Observation for host: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/73478501
Common pill woodlouse next to slug seems to have virus
pretty shocked I found one of these
Been seeing a few of these bright purple ones lately! It is more obvious when they are next to the standard grey ones.
observation duplicated per observation by @jameskdouch
One of three infected individuals amongst dozens of other normally-coloured Common Rough Woodlice (Porcellio scaber) under loose bark of Eucalyptus tree
The photos don't show the colour as well as I'd have liked, and the second one is reflecting my fluoro-orange jacket, but the difference between the colours of the two woodlice is fairly obvious.
@blastcat says the coloration is due to a particular virus. I do not have the knowledge to independently confirm that.
Host was grey (in captivity) next morning
Found under leaf litter with other regular pillbugs and slugs.
Isopod infected with a virus.
