Collected along the Paul Smith’s College VIC Boreal Life Trail. Growing on Abies balsamea twigs among leaf litter near Fagus grandifolia, Picea sp., Acer spp. and Viburnum sp. Caps glutinous; 4.3 to 14.4 mm wide and 2.8 to 5.9 mm tall. Cortina-like veil present. Gills adnate to sinuate. Basal mycelium copious and white. Stems 16.1 to 44.8 mm long and 1.0 to 1.7 mm wide Annulus absent. All surfaces bruising blue. Odor not distinctive. Taste slightly bitter and sour. Pleurocystidia absent or scarce. Cheilocystidia hyaline and forming a sterile margin. Basidia 4-sterigmate. Spores brown, thick-walled and with germ pores. Spore measurements: (6.8) 6.9 – 8.8 (9.8) × (3.8) 4.3 – 4.9 (5) µm; Q = (1.5) 1.6 – 1.9 (2); N = 30; Me = 8 × 4.6 µm; Qe = 1.7
