Male bird. Just visible in lower right section of photo: blue and red marking can be seen. This was the only location in all of 7th Brigade park centre section, where I saw (if only briefly) and heard fairywrens on the afternoon of 13/8/24. I am seeing them less and less, in smaller and smaller numbers, in a bare handful of locations. Most of the park is absolutely devoid of small bush birds and swarms with ever-increasing numbers of noisy miners. I have been documenting the steady impoverishment of this location over the course of the past ten years; the loss of diversity and numbers has accelerated since 2019 and even more so 2021-2024.
