An unusual and favorite Amanita with its cafe au lait gills and greenish-blue bruising velar material at the stem base (and sometimes seen on the cap margin). Also an unusual, hard to describe overall color-sort of a yellow-olive buff in the off-white realm that I think is similar to the color of Gyroporus cyanescens. Cap with conical warts, appearing grayish but actually olive green in color. The whole fruit body is flocculent, pulverent. Gills appearing eroded and flocculent, in this case eaten by numerous tiny beetles hidden between the lamellulae of various lengths. Partial veil thick but fragile, typically breaking up and falling off, seen here on the ground below. Pelioma is Bruise in Greek.
