This badger was very lethargic, lying very close to the road with its head down, seemingly unconcerned with the growing number of humans approaching it for photos. It did raise its head when a couple set off their car alarm, then struggled for a minute or so to turn it off. I believe the badger eventually did enter a burrow, as when I drove by the area later most of the crowd had dispersed and I didn't see it.

Continuing. Finally seen after 5 tries thanks to @pgeorgakakos.
Some surf scoters looked very similar with a bright cheek in the harsh light. However, the shaded cheek would show two white spots instead. This bird had bright cheeks on both sides, and a peaked forehead. First time seeing a female!
