Found on the edge of the woods behind the NKU police station. It was warm and sunny that day, and there was a good amount of natural sunlight.
There were a few other naturally growing similar flowers near it. They are fairly common to the Northern Kentucky area.
I was able to reproductive parts: white flowers had 5 petals with many yellow pistils and stamen visible. I could not find any fruit.
Most leaves were 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. Leaves were compound with 3 serrated leaflets.
When I plucked the flower, I pricked my finger on a prickle.
I also saw some sort of bug resting and a bee flying around one of the flowers.
Found on the perimeter of forest behind NKU Campbell Hall (between University Dr and 275). Plants of 7-8+ feet tall. Completely dominates the outer edge for at least a mile or so. Small bilateral white flowers about 1.5 inches tall.
One, lone yellow-flowered crucifer popped up in the woods along the edge of my wildflower area. I assume it's an annual weed of some sort, but it isn't garlic mustard, so I am content.
The basal leaves are pinnately divided, the upper leaves are simple and toothy, and the fruit are long and slender. The whole plant is maybe 12-14" tall.
