On alder log
Conifer debris; no distinctive odor; greasy cap; spores brown, 6-6.5 x 3-3.5 um; abundant cheilocystidia.
Growing on Coprinus comatus that looks a lot like Entoloma abortivum aborted stage. Grassy lawn. Last picture a week later.
Smells like sweet almond extract. Growing in moss and leaves around fir tree roots. Largest one was about 15cm across.
Growing in leaf duff next to a very well decomposed downed tree, no bark to tell what kind but probably a hardwood species. My guess would be maple.
Lots of sugar maple, American beech and yellow birch in the area with some hemlocks around.
