More than six spots but I think this is a six-spotted tiger beetle. Second pic shows multiple setae on first antennal segment. Found under bark of rotting beech tree (it was a cold day).
Millipedes in the genus Abacion have a distinctive granular or corrugated appearance. They are slender, but not small.
On a well-shaded 'rails to trails' walk
Ranunculus ficaria (syn. Ficaria verna) or Lesser Celandine? And, lots of it. Along a creek (positive identifications have been made nearby).
