Only ever see one or two of these a year
Netted at dusk flying over long grass beside river.
I reared this moth as caterpillar, it ate mahoe (melicytus ramiflorus) over last 2 months.
Also seen on 01/11/23, 11.11.23. 1 specimen each time.
Feeding more often during the day now, as they prepare for final stage.
Drawn to light.13 degrees, calm, humid.
Two specimens shown
Chunky moth. Forewing approx 20mm. Sat tented. Hindwing had slight veins showing not apparent in photo. Labial palps noticeably curved upwards
5-6mm length. Had shiny appearance
