October 28th Nature Walk

Today, I ventured the area around Boston College’s upper campus to find animals in the wild. Unfortunately, it was mot a very nice day, for it was cloudy and very damp. However, this did not hinder the variety of life that I would come across. First I observed a bird in a tree, but I could not get a close enough picture to positively identify it. Three wild turkeys were roaming the grass on upper campus, and they did not seem to be bothered by humans getting close to them. Next, I say an ant which was identified as a small honey ant by another iNaturalist user. Although it was not a nice day, the temperature was a perfect 55 degrees, which made for a cool but temperate nature walk. I also came across multiple Eastern Gray Squirrels. Moss was growing on some stone, and the orange-tipped sporophytes could be observed growing out of the green gametophyte. Lastly, I came across Common Blue Wood Asters. Overall, it was a very relaxing and serene nature walk filled with diverse life forms.
