Hi everyone again,
This is unrelated to D. ashmeadi but since you are all interested in finding new galls, I’d like to mention another one called Dryocosmus demartinii. It’s a gall wasp species on Golden Chinquapin (Chrysolepis chrysophylla) newly described in 2018, and iNat still has no observation. Who wants to be first? Here’s the detailed info:
https://sci-hub.hkvisa.net/10.11646/zootaxa.4532.3.6
Adding @graysquirrel and @beartracker because it’s likely on your turf :)
If anyone finds it, please be sure to tag me!

Hi @chyroptera, is there any chance that you can collect this species of gall, or other Pacific Coast rose galls aside from D. rosae and D. californica? @stephaniesq and I are trying to revise this genus, and there are some specimens that we definitely want more of. If you or anyone is interested please let me know, and I can tell you more about it? Thanks :)

We are particularly interested in:
