Hello iNaturalist Community!

We are the San Ignacio del Huinay Foundation, founded in 1998 by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) and Enel Generación Chile. Since then, we have been dedicated to the study and conservation of the pristine and unique aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems of the Chilean Patagonian fjords. Located in the amazing Comau Fjord, we have amassed over 20-years of observation and are thrilled to join all of you in capturing and sharing the biodiversity that thrives in this special corner of the world!

We’re passionate about citizen science and open science. With your help and the community’s, we believe we can discover even more about the nature around us. We’re excited and happy to share our observations and learn together as we continue to protect this beautiful place!

Somos la Fundación San Ignacio del Huinay, fundada en 1998 por la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) y Enel Generación Chile. Desde entonces, nos hemos dedicado al estudio y la conservación de los prístinos y únicos ecosistemas acuáticos y terrestres de los fiordos patagónicos chilenos. Ubicados en el maravilloso Fiordo Comau, Hemos acumulado más de 20 años de observaciones y estamos encantados de unirnos a ustedes para capturar y compartir toda la biodiversidad que habita en este rincón tan especial del mundo

Nos apasiona la ciencia ciudadana y la ciencia abierta. Creemos que, con su ayuda y la de la comunidad, podemos descubrir aún más sobre la naturaleza que nos rodea. ¡Estamos felices y entusiasmados por compartir nuestras observaciones y aprender juntos mientras seguimos cuidando este hermoso lugar!
