May Flowers

Alachua County boasts beautiful spaces of unmowed wildflowers. Specifically, the ones near 441 in Alachua are quite exquisite, boasting a rainbow of colors and heights. The most prominent and persistent wildflower notice here is Phlox which blooms for months. One of the later bloomers are the tall, white-flowered prickly poppies which dwarf most others in stature. Waves of Coreopsis, Florida's state GENUS (weird, I know), blanket most natural areas.
