Bolete?

Found in shaded leaf-litter near the base of trees or between tree bases.

Very squat, near the ground, low lying in shaded areas. The surrounding leaves were stacked higher than these were lower.

Groupings: Solitary or in couples but not multitudes.

Not especially/particularly odorous.

While the nearby and nearest other debris seemed to trap moisture, these seemed dry. Maybe pollen on the cap or dust? Uncertain if this was a feature of the mushroom or a result of the surrounding landscape.
