I'm a naturalist based in Oregon and observing everywhere I go. My first love was birds, then the plants got me, which led me to insects... and now I am learning more about everything in the more-than-just-human world around us. I was born and raised in Louisiana and reconnected with the nature there after returning from 2020-2024.

I write about my experiences in Nature and more at https://daniel.observer

I have been making an effort to document Plant Phenology on common Louisiana plants, including Black Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis), Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum), and more.

I've also taken an interest in the incredible Scarlet-bodied Wasp Moth (Cosmosoma myrodora).

I am a Louisiana Master Naturalist in the LMNGBR chapter.
