I am a mathematician and hobby naturalist especially interested in plants. I currently live in Minnesota but am more familiar with taxa in my home state of Oregon, especially those in SW OR (Josephine, Jackson, Curry, and Douglas counties), where I camped and hiked frequently during my graduate studies at UO.

Feel free to tag me for IDs or to clarify a previous ID.

Genera I tend to focus on here include: Ceanothus in Oregon, Arceuthobium and Phoradendron (mistletoes) in the US, and Asarum on the west coast. I am also fairly knowledgeable about Josephine and Jackson County, OR endemic plants.

Some unresolved flags I'm invested in:

This flag is about a Calochortus (mariposa lily) endemic to OR and presumed extinct but which is considered a still-extant hybrid combination on iNat, following POWO. We should either stop considering C. indecorus a hybrid, keep it labeled extinct, and possibly add C. tolmiei x C. uniflorus or keep the name C. x indecorus but stop labeling it extinct and start applying it to hybrids.

This flag addresses duplication of names for some mistletoes. There are dueling taxonomies (FNA and Jepson vs POWO) for mistletoe taxonomy, and taxa from both frameworks are often available on iNat. It would be great to bring things more in line with POWO so we have a unified view of what each taxon means on this platform.
