I am a plant systematist focusing on the plant families Cactaceae and Melastomataceae (especially of the Greater Antilles), and likewise have broad interests in floristics and plant biodiversity in the southeastern United States, the Caribbean region and South America. I also focus broadly on plant evolution across arid areas of the Americas.
