A lifelong native of Alabama, botanist, naturalist, and volunteer hike leader. Botanical interests and expertise: native flora of the SE United States, non-native invasive plant species, and species in need of conservation in Alabama. Research: trees and shrubs of Paint Rock Nature Preserve, (Jackson County, AL), Clematis morefieldii, Nestronia umbellula, edge effect in controlled burn areas of Bankhead National Forest, the flora of Land Trust of North Alabama, Vascular Flora of Choccolocco Creek, Calhoun, Cleburne, and Talladega Counties, AL (2002). I enjoy leading hikes on Land Trust properties and encourage folks to incorporate native species of plants into their home landscapes and limit/remove non-native invasive species that threaten the existence of our native flora and fauna. I am available to lead hikes and give presentations about the flora of NE Alabama upon request.
