I work with the American Bird Conservancy as its Southwest Riparian Bird Recovery Coordinator. I led Point Blue Conservation Science's desert program for many years, and I am now a Point Blue research associate. Current work in 2023 involves finally publishing our paper on wintering Sagebrush and Bell's Sparrows, drought impacts on Inyo California Towhees, a genomic assessment of California Towhees, and long-term monitoring of a desert riparian bird community's response to restoration, fire, and Brown-headed Cowbird trapping.

I have worked throughout California on a wide assortment of avian research projects that principally focus on songbirds and shorebirds. I have worked on renewable energy development projects across the United States, with a focus in the Great Plains and Midwest.
