My educational and work background is in physical metallurgy research. I like staying active with scientific, technical things and have volunteer experience preparing fossils among other fun things. I currently volunteer with Discover Life in America (DLiA) which manages the All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory, an effort to catalog and understand every single species living in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Dr. Will Kuhn is the Director of Science & Research for DLiA. Will maintains the insect collection of DLiA and is providing the specimens I've been photographing. Maybe sometime I'll post some of my own observations, too.
