I have worked as an ecologist in Central Virginia in-between graduate schools. In retirement, I was part of the Hawaii quick reaction plan for coral reefs called, "Eyes of the Reef." I am a SCUBA instructor and also work with coral restoration groups, in particular, Crew 3000.org.
I am a certified Virginia Master Naturalist, a Chesapeake Bay Foundation Clean Water Captain, and a Tree Steward. My wife is a better birder than I but she is making me get bettor.
