I have a keen interest in nature since my early teens. Whereas my initial focus was mostly on birding, I started getting very interested in plants around 2010.
I joined SEMO - The (Flemish) Study Group for European and Meditteranean Orchids in 2015.
I'm also a member of the Brabant Orchid Society and the Flemish Orchid Association.
After my retirement in early 2019, I became a volunteer at the National Botanical Gardens in Meise, Belgium, where I am taking care of the orchid collection at the greenhouses.
The observations listed for Ecuador are from a tour across the country guided by Ecuagenera from 15/11 to 03/12/2021. Pictures were made by Gerrit Verhellen, Patrick Mannens, Guy Tytgat, Hugo Medina (our guide), Annemie Petitjean and myself.
