A rush or reed inhabiting seepages on the mountainside in the ultramafics zone.
Base of stem reddish, very erect and flower head also held stiffly erect, terminal. Stems not jointed to about 500mm.
Ripe glumes large for size of plant, almost wheat-like for size.
