ABSTRACT
New records of introduced plants for the flora of El Salvador and in some cases for Mesoamerica are documented for 146 species. Several of these species are already naturalized but for the most part they are cultivated in gardening and agriculture. In addition, data on geographical distribution or place of origin, collection data, and herbarium records are included. A compilation of different records or complementary
data is made on the timeline by different authors. Families with the highest number of species are Amaranthaceae, Araceae, Araliaceae, Arecaceae, Asparagaceae, Asphodelaceae, Commelinaceae, Cupressaceae, Lamiaceae, and Rosaceae.
