Macrosteles sardus Ribaut (1948).
M. sardus is a species of leafhopper with a limited distribution in central and western Europe: Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom (den Bieman and de Haas, 2019; Holzinger, 2009; Jach and Hoch, 2013; Niedringhaus et al., 2010; Seljak, 2004; Świerczewski and Walczak. 2011; et al, 2016).
M. sardus is listed in bold in the current checklist of UK Auchenorrhyncha (last updated 11th Jan 2021) indicating that it is a new addition to the British fauna since the list produced by Le Quesne & Payne (1981).

There are two accepted records of M.sardus in iNaturalist
Both these records were confirmed by Michael Wilson on the basis of dissection of males.
There are three additional records of M.sardus in iRecord
The 2022 records were confirmed by Alan Stuart on the basis of dissected males while the record from 2023, is also a male, is yet to be reviewed. The two iRecord records from 2022 have been incorporated into both the UK's NBN Atlas (here) the international GBIF database (here).
