Birdwatching: Farewell to the western scrub-jay.

It reported that the American Ornithological Union has split the western scrub-Jay into two species because it had been determined through genetic research that there are major differences between the scrub-Jay we see in Washington, Oregon and California from the bird seen in the interior (Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas). The bird we see is now called the California scrub-jay, while the latter is called Woodhouse’s scrub-jay.
