Welcome!

Malaysia is situated in one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. Freshwater snails and mussels are molluscs that live in non-marine aquatic habitats (excluding mangroves). Freshwater molluscs are a noticeable part of Malaysia's ecosystem yet knowledge about them is very limited. This project invites all citizen scientists to contribute their observations of freshwater snails and mussels in Malaysia. Ultimately, we hope this will help the public and scientists learn more about the distribution of native and non-native freshwater mollusc species in Malaysia. So, feel free to contribute your photos!

To maximise the usability of your observations, please follow these terms:

  1. Please read and the iNaturalist FAQ and adhere to the relevant guidelines -- FAQ: http://www.inaturalist.org/pages/help
  2. All photographs should be taken in the organism's habitat (in-situ) if possible, humans are not necessary!
  3. All photographs posted must be yours. Photographs that do not belong to you will be flagged. See: http://www.inaturalist.org/pages/help#inappropriate.
  4. Include as much information as possible: location, habitat, species name (try to do some research and suggest a name where possible). See: https://www.inaturalist.org/posts/1869-the-need-for-assigning-accuracy.

Thank you so much for your contribution and please, keep it fun, keep it wild!

Many thanks
