Justification: Specimen has compound eyes and two antennae. The rigid exoskeleton is made up of seven thorax segments each with a pair of legs attached. The specimen is observed to curl into a ball for protection, characteristic to the order.
Observed among the foliage beneath a Eucalyptus tree.
Found alive in wet dirt, jumping around when disturbed and then digging back into soil
Required refrigeration to slow movement to classify
Found in leaf litter in shaded garden bed.
