Young plants, pairs of larger cotyledonous leaves and smaller adult leaves. Late spring.
Location: Sewell Peak (1400 m south of Sarah's Mt. Davy record).

The last thing I called this (https://inaturalist.nz/observations/6245576) had no confirmation, so not expecting much here, interestingly we are now 900 m lower, but still on the Best (West) Coast.

I need help with this one too! I am going with P crenatum as the hairs look straight and the leaves are lobbed, but I read that the variation in P. novae-zelandiae may cover these characters.

Description

In an odd place where salty water channels down over sand. The salt is blown against the cliff face behind in the strong southerlies. With Plantago coronopus, Puccinellia stricta and other typical salt marsh plants.

Description

These plants are scattered on the mown road-side and over the golf course. Two specimens were 7 to 8 cm high. Basal leaves make a fan. The leaves are grass-like, 20 to 60 mm long. Flower is 0.9 cm long, 1.2 cm wide. Yellow below and purple above in throat. Externally purple striped above and hairy below. One of the flowers in the photo is a daisy.

Description

Sadly now locally common and becoming more common by the year. Boneseed is probably the most serious threat to the endemic Veronica saxicola as well as other special plants found on the rock. There have been discussions on its control with the people who control the rock but as yet little progress seems to have been made.
