Description

presumably a rat's hoard, of mostly-opened karo fruit containing seeds, in three piles at base of small mahoe where ground is dry despite light rain earlier in day. Banks around covered in Tradescantia. A light covering of Trad was removed from the base of this tree to reveal the stash of fruits (and returned to maintain ground cover during drought)

Description

first juvenile specimen found within at least 50m. A seedlings found last year about 100m upstream, and one more recently in this area.

A single mature vine recently observed during manual removal of honeysuckle (on ground, in canopy and epiphytic on a nikau trunk) on the same bank, nearer the steamside about 50m upstream.
