Hopefully. An isolated seedling under manuka/rawirinui canopy with 2 young Pinus within about 20m. Pinus species nearby include radiata and probable pinaster.

The first fern, and one of the first plants in or close beside about 3x4m of Ptychomnion aciculare under manuka/rawirinui canopy

Lots of ponga in adjoining, slightly older regen podocarp/rawirinui forest about 20m away

For scale, leaf litter is manuka/rawirinui, and Image 4 shows toe of size 9 gumboot

@jon_sullivan, I'm trying to work out whether I am using this field appropriately. In the /projects/seeds-fruits-propagules-in-nz project I have been adding this "Life stage" field and setting it to "seed" for both observations of seeds and fruits, as fruit isn't really a different stage of growth.

Or should we add a "fruit" stage?
