Five mallards around: one pair, three males. Or is this "intersex" duck, mainly male colors and female colored beak. As it was not paired, it likely is not female.

Description

The Western Screech Owls are back in the nesting box. Momma recently started looking out of the box during the day, so a baby might be getting active. (Actually, this evening I saw an Owlet looking out and grooving out! Hopefully more on that to come...) The "similar observation set" is for an audio of their recently chatty Owlet, likely wondering where the heck the parents are and please bring me lizards!

I'm pretty sure that this is an Owlet in the nesting box. They've started getting active; this evening they looked out for a long while and got their groove on! (Too dark really for useful photos, unfortunately...) The "similar observation set" is for Momma looking out of the box.

@kiwifergus has a great explanation of how to use this field on this post on the iNat Forum: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/using-the-field-similar-observation-set-for-linking-observations-of-lepidoptera-when-raising-on/1018

@reinderw @pjd1 @marleyii @steve_kerr @stephen_thorpe

Potentially a useful tool for you guys?

Posted by dave_holland over 2 years ago (Flag)

:-) It's nothing technical. I just noticed earlier today that I'd mis-spelt your iNat user name, so I fixed it.
