Retired Middle School Counselor with an interest in Wildlife Ecology and restoration of natural habitats. The current project began in 2003 to provide middle school students with an opportunity to experience the outdoors in a natural environment. "The mission is to nurture students as they learn to care for the environment that nurture's them."
All animal sightings on this property have been recorded since September of 2003. The area is about 4 acres, and is bordered by a large prairie pothole on one side and athletic fields on the other.
The site was farmed as a hayfield for many years prior to becoming school grounds. Students began planting mostly native trees and plants in 2003.
