I'm working to improve the way we screen biocontrol agents for potential non-target effects before releasing them. More specifically, I'm looking at the samurai wasp (Trissolcus japonicus), which has been approved for release in NZ against brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys), should the stink bug establish here.

Broadly speaking, I'm interested in the taxonomy and ecology of insects, particularly parasitoid wasps. For my masters research, I measured how sampling effort is related to the number of species of parsitoid wasps caught in the Waitakere Ranges. You can find my masters thesis and published articles here, and you can also find me on twitter.
