The swan song of San Francisco's last remaining California quail is a sad one. Three lilting notes – chi-ca-go – cries the city's lone quail from his perch in Golden Gate Park. There is no response, but for the chatter of human visitors, most of whom wouldn't recognize the quail's characteristic song if they heard it.
