2018 is off to a GREAT start!

Hey there everyone, it's time for another update and some speculation at upcoming BioBlitz events to participate in.

Firstly, we have a guest speaker lined up to give a talk near the end of this month at the Visitor Center. We hope to add on a BioBlitz event to this, but are still in planning to ensure the guest is comfortable and prepared to handle all you avid naturalists. Stay tuned for any quick updates should we have an event this January.

Looking to the spring, this years World Migratory Bird Day is on May 12th. We have yet to conduct any land based surveys for seabirds, and this would be a perfect event to build a BioBlitz around. Plans are still in the works, so keep an eye to your Notifications as we update you with our progress.

And, to close out the first half of the year, we are working in partnership with the Oregon Coast Aquarium to conduct a BioBlitz event in coordination with all of the other Marine Reserve communities here in Oregon. This larger effort will help to see our expansive database used to further the greater knowledge of species presence along the Oregon Coast, and stand as an example for those communities just coming to the BioBlitz table. Plans are for an event in early July, and we will make sure you all get the lowdown ans details as they are released.

So that's that. We have a couple events in the works, and one Big One lined up for early summer. But these don't have to be the only events on the schedule. We would like to invite you, our loyal participant and naturalist, to feel free to envision events of your own. Should you get inspired to work on a new event of your own devising, please do not hesitate to contact us for support and some brainstorming!
