Cape Perpetua Mushroom BioBlitz - 2018

Join us in exploring Cape Perpetua’s beautiful forest lands while cataloging the various mushroom species of the region. Participants will accompany Anna Moore, an amateur mycologist and photographer, who will share her knowledge from over 30 years of foraging and species identification.

WHEN & WHERE: Oct. 20th, Saturday

(11:00pm-12:00pm) Presentation
Anna’s presentation will include a slide show of the fantastic habitat of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and she will emphasize the diversity of fungi found in the dunes and forests from Reedsport to Cape Perpetua.

(12:00am-2:00pm) Group Walk
BioBlitz participants will meet at the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center before embarking on a guided hike. This walk will take guests up into the old growth forest along the Cape Perpetua trail network; expect some uphill travel.

This program is FREE. Bring your waterproof shoes, raincoat, binoculars, water and snacks.
